ArcelorMittal Gonvarri Senica - 10 years on slovak market
ArcelorMittal Gonvarri SSC Slovakia, important service centre for processing of flat rolled products, intends to have turnover 200 mill EUR in 2014.
Basic philosophy of the company ArcelorMittal Gonvarri SSC Slovakia is to satisfy individual needs of its customers via first quality service. Except for Slovakia, the company acts in Czech, Austrian, Slovenian and Ukrainian markets. 90 % of users are regular customers.
ArcelorMittal Gonvarri SSC Slovakia has been acting in Slovakia for more than 10 years. In the beginning the production slowly developed with one production line only, in 2006 there were already operating three production lines. In 2012 the company invested 25 mill. EUR from own sources without state tax relief. Year 2013 brought introduction of two more lines press line and slitting line, owing to which the range of products was extended by aluminium cuts, or rather steel strips of higher quality. Innovation was positively manifested in sales volumes. In 2014 260 000 tons of steel and aluminium products was produced and delivered, which was increase by 25% in comparison to the previous year. The company belongs to the top 50 biggest exporters in Slovakia.
It currently has 108 employees, approx. 60% thereof are production employees. The operation was gradually optimized to 3 shifts. One of priorities of the company ArcelorMittal Gonvarri SSC Slovakia is safety of work and health. Effectiveness of HSW management system is certified by "Safe Company" certificate. The company created and successfully uses program of work productivity increase. Basic seems to be utilization of employees' skills and their work flexibility, optimal work organization and support of innovatory movement. By focusing onto work productivity increase ArcelorMittal Gonvarri SSC Slovakia from Senica gets one of the best results within the group. The company actively participates in development of Záhorie region. It particularly prefers local companies as sub-suppliers, which brings work to more 100 inhabitants of the region.
Except for production employees there is also a an internal team in Senica managing quality, logistics, trade, finance and human resources who uses multi-national support of the mother company - ArcelorMittal, world leader in steel production, and Spanish steel company Gonvarri.
On October 9 2014, The ArcelorMittal Gonvarri Steel Service Center in Senica held a ceremony to celebrate both its 10-year anniversary and the inauguration of two new production lines.
The ceremony gathered 200 guests including clients and important entrepreneurs. The inauguration took place in the presence of : Mr. Peter Mišo - CEO of ArcelorMittal Gonvarri Senica, Committee Members of ArcelorMittal Gonvarri Senica : Marek Dolina - CEO of BD East Distribution Solution and Christoph Carnol - Gonvarri General Manager for Eastern Europe. Pavol Pavlis - Minister of Economy of the Slovak Republic and Ľubomír Parízek, Mayor of the City of Senica, were also attending the ceremony.
We had the pleasure to welcome 150 customers from Hungary, Czech Republic, Austria, Poland and Germany.
Our customers were given a guided tour of the site and discovered our new press line L5 and our new slitting line L4.
During his speech, Peter Mišo highlighted some essential facts in the company’s history:
“The production in Senica was launched with only one production line. In 2006, we already had three. The two new lines, the L5 press specialised for aluminum products and the L4 slitting line, set up in 2013, enabled us to enlarge the products portfolio of ArcelorMittal Gonvarri Senica.”
During the visit of the plant, the Minister of Economy of the Slovak Republic expressed the satisfaction that brings the creation of new production premises. He mentioned also the very positive aspect for Slovakia. He finished his speech wishing ArcelorMittal Gonvarri the best for any future investments and a lot of success with future projects.
The support of management combined with an efficient communication with local authorities and particularly great professional relationships with clients strongly contributed to the growth and the success of ArcelorMittal Gonvarri SSC Slovakia
